Hey! I’m Parkar. In this role, I’m a Breathwork Facilitator, but I’m also a practicing Board Certified Doctor of Physical Therapy! I’ve always been a curious person and while I was training to be a PT I got a little obsessed about trying to understand chronic pain conditions (spoiler alert: there is A LOT that is still unknown)!
In my search to understand how to better support my clients suffering with chronic pain syndromes, over and over and over again two themes emerged: subconscious influences and autonomic nervous system balance. Every single person on this planet is influenced by the subconscious mind. It is scientifically accepted that the subconscious influences the body in many ways: our posture, how we move, how muscles get chronically tight (looking at you, jaw, neck, and pelvic floor!) and even the severity and frequency that we experience pain.
I like to think about the autonomic nervous system as the highway that connects the brain to the body. The respiratory diaphragm is a muscle that is innervated by both the autonomic nervous system (subconscious) AND the voluntary nervous system (conscious!). We use breathwork to leverage the diaphragm as an access point to influence the autonomic nervous system.

I dove deep (the only way I know how.. For better or for worse ha!) and I started realizing my own chronic health conditions were being driven by a state of nervous system dysregulation, and much of that dysregulation had deep subconscious roots. Once I started tapping into these places, feeling, acknowledging, releasing. THAT’S when everything began to really change.
I have tried/used many modalities to work with my own dysregulation and in the process I was able to reverse my chronic health conditions, and find FREEDOM to build the life I WANT. Supported/guided breathwork was one of the most powerful tools I used, and continue to use on a regular basis! The breath LITERALLY and immediately influences the state of the autonomic nervous system. Basically- we can use the BODY to change the MIND.
